Gateway

reading while I vacuum.

Reading is such a gateway...to (and away from) everything, if you think about it.

The kids love to read. They read every day, of their own volition.

• comic books (they go to Time Warp every week)
• graphic novels (Bone is a favorite)
• historical fiction (dating back to Magic Treehouse)
• mysteries (I'm leaving around Hardy Boys books as of late)
• fantasy (Gem plowed through the Harry Potter series last summer)
• magazines (Lego Club, Cobblestone, Nat Geo Kids, as well as, Nat Geo, Sports Illustrated, etc.)
• non-fiction (they love geography/world history/atlases)
