Today was the Spring Craft Fair, a seasonal handmade event started way back when by one of our homeschooling friends, Lucy. Over a dozen families set up tables/chairs and set out blankets for hours of buying, selling, bartering, playing, talking, socializing and soaking up the Springtime sun.
The kids benefited from last week's rain cancellation and used this week to think about and make their wares.
Sag made airship hangars that came with their own airships. He also drew a bunch of posters featuring characters from some of his favorite movies, comics and books.
Gem made a comic book and then photocopied 15 copies to sell.
They each made over $4 and had a blast playing with many friends. They bought fresh lime/lemonade, water balloon yo-yos, origami frogs, and fruit-scented play dough.
I absolutely LOVE this idea!
ReplyDeleteRun with it, Mama :-)
ReplyDeleteI've been checking the blog daily for 2 weeks and no news on the kids. I figured they were wasting their lives away sitting in their room doing nothing ;-) Nice to see that they've been being creative as usual!
ReplyDeleteYeah, sorry :-P
