Track

Between colds and my focus on cooking some new recipes and eating better as a family (which means a lot of time in the kitchen, and a lot of time in front of the computer because I'm blogging about it), the kids and I have spent most of our time indoors this week.  Thank goodness for common meal which got us out of the house for a few hours Wednesday evening.

Yesterday, Gem came out of the room with the craft supplies holding a skein of white acrylic yarn.  He asked if I needed it for anything.  I told him to use what he wanted and the kids got busy.

They have been running in the apartment for weeks now.  Inspired by the Vancouver Winter Games, it began as timed trials in preparation for the Summer Games.  That evolved into the TANDA games which their friends have enjoyed taking part in.  Medals are involved and the Games have expanded to include fencing.

Our apartment is shaped like a square doughnut.  You can walk through each room, each has two doors, endlessly going 'round and 'round.  It works well for running.

Yesterday, they used the yarn to create two lanes for running.
