When homeschooling is illegal

Thanks to my sister for forwarding this NYT article about a German homeschooling family now living in Tennessee who were recently granted political asylum status by an American judge.

    I knew that it was illegal in Germany, but I'd never read a firsthand account of what that meant for families there. I find it very interesting -- and good -- that this family was given asylum. And I just read it yesterday -- it was linked on the Carnival of Unschooled Life -- too!

    I didn't notice it at the Carnival...I so often skim what comes in on my Reader, star what I want to go back and read...and rarely ever go back! Tsk, tsk :-)
